Barça Set to Play Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
